BIOGRAPHY

Peter Russell Bernstein is a PhD student in the Computer Science program at Northeastern University’s College of Computer and Information Science, advised by Professor Huy Le Nguyen. His research interests lie in the area of algorithms and theory.

Peter is involved in the Algorithms and Theory research group, and is interested in the theoretical aspects of computer science overall and algorithms in particular.

Before joining Northeastern’s PhD program, Peter earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Science and Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science at Tufts University.

What are your research interests?

I am interested generally in theoretical aspects of computer science and algorithms.

What’s one problem you’d like to solve with your research/work?

I’d like to finish all my homework in constant time.

What aspect of what you do is most interesting?

I’m still figuring out what my research will be while I focus more on classes.

What are your research or career goals, going forward?

My goal for now is to come up with more defined future goals.

Where did you grow up or spend your most defining years?

I grew up in downtown Manhattan and it’s the best place in the world.

Where did you study for your undergraduate degree?

I double majored in Engineering Science and Mathematics and minored in Computer Science at Tufts University.
