Gain real-world insight. Enhance your studies. Accelerate your success.
Our cooperative education program (“co-op,” for short) is built to enrich your Master’s program—and elevate your expertise. You’ll gain up to 12 months of professional experience related to your major, helping you to develop the knowledge, awareness, perspective, and confidence needed for a successful career.
Your co-op experience is what you make it
CCIS Master’s programs integrate Northeastern’s signature Co-op Education Program to provide a uniquely meaningful experience—whether you’re attending CCIS as an international student, switching careers, or expanding your industry knowledge base. In addition to working with our esteemed faculty, co-op is a primary reason many Master’s students choose Northeastern.
While closely integrated with our course curriculum and advising system, the CCIS co-op program is based on a unique educational strategy recognizing that classroom learning only provides some of the skills needed for your profession. Your experiential learning engagement typically follows the second semester, either as a six- to eight-month co-op job or a three- to four-month summer internship. If you complete a co-op first, you can seek an internship the following summer, or vice versa during the next academic year.
Participate in the CCIS co-op program and advance your:
- Learning, technical expertise, and occupational knowledge
- Confidence, maturity, and self-knowledge
- Job seeking and job success skills
- Networking opportunities within your desired career path
CCIS students are in high demand, and you’ll be able to apply to a robust pool of employers—from small local start-ups to global corporations. Plus, our team of co-op coordinators provides the support you need every step of the way.
Our employers, your opportunities
The CCIS co-op program offers the opportunity to do significant work for some of the world’s most pioneering companies.
