What are the specifics of your educational/career background?

I attended the University of Rhode Island, where I received my BS in Human Development and Family Studies. I received a Master of Education in Counseling and Psychology from Cambridge College. I have worked as an advisor to help individuals set and achieve their personal and career goals both on and off a college campus since 2003.

What are the key aspects of your role at Northeastern? What do you enjoy most about what you do?

Key aspects of my role include educating and preparing students to be successful when participating in co-op positions for the College of Computer and Information Science. I work closely with employers to develop jobs that fit with a student’s interests and abilities.

What I enjoy most is working directly with students and learning from their experiences. I love developing and delivering effective teaching and coaching techniques that focus on educating students about careers, while empowering them to develop strategies to be successful.

What’s the most compelling thing to you about the work that goes on at CCIS?

Computing has become an important part of our lives. Being affiliated with the college has allowed me to see first-hand the problem solving, logic, creativity, and direct impact CCIS has on society.
