Biography

Tien Vo-Huu is a PhD student in the Information Assurance program at Northeastern University’s College of Computer and Information Science, advised by Professor Guevara Noubir. Tien’s research interests are related to the security aspects of wireless communications and networks. Prior to joining the PhD program, Tien earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Polytechnic University of Turin in Italy.

What are the specifics of your graduate education (thus far)?

I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering from Polytechnic University of Turin in Italy. I am currently a PhD student in the Information Assurance program.

What are your research interests?

My interests are related to the security aspects of wireless communications and networks. So far all of my participating projects were related to security threats such as jamming attacks and tracking Wi-Fi devices.

What’s one problem you’d like to solve with your research/work?

I’d like to solve privacy concerns in wireless networks.

What aspect of what you do is most interesting?

What is most interesting to me is the fact that massive growths of wireless networks and new technologies today create huge opportunities for the adversaries and scientists to challenge each other.

What are your research or career goals, going forward?

My goal is to make the wireless system safer and more efficient.
