Biography

Nicholas Brown is a Lecturer at Northeastern University’s College of Computer and Information Science. He holds a PhD and MS in Computer Science from the University of California, Los Angeles, as well as a BA in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from UC Santa Cruz. Previously, he worked at UCLA, the LA Film School, the Art Institutes of California, and Santa Monica College as a lecturer in game programming and computer science. He was a 2000-2003 NSF IGERT Fellow in the Integrative Bioinformatics Training Program.

What is your educational background?

I earned my PhD and MS in Computer Science from the University of California, Los Angeles. I achieved my BA in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of California, Santa Cruz.

What is your research focus?

My research focus is on social analytics, big data, and the social web and social gaming. It comes from a love for games and machine learning.
