Michael Davidson is a PhD student in the Information Assurance program at Northeastern University’s College of Computer and Information Science, advised by Professor Ravi Sundaram. Michael’s research is focused on security and cryptocurrencies. Prior to joining the PhD program at Northeastern, Michael earned his bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University.

What are the specifics of your graduate education (thus far)?
I am beginning my first year of the PhD program in Information Assurance.
What’s one problem you’d like to solve with your research/work?
I would like to find ways to strengthen and/or break the anonymity and privacy of cryptocurrencies.
What aspect of what you do is most interesting?
I haven’t started yet, so I don’t know!
What are your research or career goals, going forward?
I’d love to work closely with startups in the fledgling cryptocurrency industry, perhaps as an academic.

Rutgers. Both of my older siblings went there, I loved it, and I received a full scholarship.
