What are the brief specifics of your educational/career background?
I received my Master’s of Education in Counseling Psychology from Boston University and completed my practicum work in high school counseling. I previously worked for the Educational Resource Center at Boston University, counseling students on academic success skills and co-supervising the peer tutoring program. I received my BS in Business Administration and Management from Boston University and briefly worked in Human Resources before making the transition to education.
What are the key aspects of your role at Northeastern? What do you enjoy most/find most interesting about what you do?
As an academic advisor at CCIS, I advise students in the college from orientation through graduation. I help students create and refine their academic plan to best fit their academic and career goals. I also teach CS1200, a required course for all CCIS freshmen to introduce them to the university. I really enjoy seeing students grow throughout their undergraduate career and providing them with the support they need to be successful at Northeastern.
What’s the most compelling thing to you about the research/work that goes on at the College?
Technology is continually changing how we live and work, so I am very excited to work with the current and future innovators of the ever growing computer science field. CCIS students are very passionate and driven, and I am continually impressed by their accomplishments.
