What are the brief specifics of your education/career background?
I earned my Bachelor of Arts from SUNY Potsdam in English creative writing with a minor in chemistry. Afterwards, I attended Emerson college and received my Master of Arts in publishing and writing. I did temp work as an Administrative Assistant in higher education for about a year before coming to work in CCIS. On my own time, I work as a self-published author, writing fantasy fiction.
What are the key aspects of your role at Northeastern? What do you enjoy most about what you do?
I am an Administrative Assistant in charge of the front desk in the College of Computer and Information Science main office. My role includes greeting and assisting students and faculty who come into the office. I also take care of the requests in the operation mailbox, order supplies, and help process reimbursements.
My favorite part of the job is meeting all of the diverse people who come in each day. I also enjoy the various tasks I’m given on a daily basis and being surrounded by other hard-working staff who do their best in supporting students and colleagues.
What’s the most compelling thing to you about the work that goes on at CCIS?
What I love the most about working for Northeastern University is seeing all of the opportunities the university provides for both students and staff to further their education and to learn about the diverse fields in an engaging environment. Northeastern University strives to ensure the success of everyone: students, faculty, and staff, and I’m proud to be a part of that kind of environment.
