What are the specifics of your educational/career background?
I received a BA in Psychology from the University of New Hampshire and an MA in Higher Education Administration from Boston College. Professionally, I have been at the Northeastern College of Computer and Information Science for several years, starting with administrative and admissions work, and subsequently moving to graduate student services and advising.
What are the key aspects of your role at Northeastern? What do you enjoy most about what you do?
I work with graduate students at the College of Computer and Information Science. My responsibilities cover all aspects of student services, including event planning, administrative duties, and academic advising. The best part of my job is the time I get to spend with the students, either at events or working one-on-one. These moments are the most interesting part of my day, and the reason I went into the field of higher education.
What’s the most compelling thing to you about the work that goes on at CCIS?
I think one of the best things about the College of Computer and Information Science is the relevancy of the game-changing work done by faculty and students. In today’s world, technology has a role in everything, and the people at CCIS work at the forefront of their fields. Coming from a non-computer science background, it amazes me to see the technological shifts at work, especially those which augment and change the lives of individuals around the globe.
