What are the specifics of your educational/career background?

I attended American University in Washington, DC and majored in Business Administration with a focus on finance and marketing. I have a specialization in government consulting which led me to work on several campaigns for the House and Senate before landing a role with a political consulting firm. After a career change and several relocations, I am happy to call Boston and Northeastern home!

What are the key aspects of your role at Northeastern? What do you enjoy most about what you do?

As the Events Coordinator I design and implement logistical support for all college events. This includes planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating events and conferences that CCIS sponsors from start to finish. I also assist the Marketing team with customizing event posters, invitations, display boards, social media, and other collateral materials. I enjoy being able to combine project management and creativity into all aspects of my job.

What’s the most compelling thing to you about the work that goes on at CCIS?

I love working on events because no two days are ever the same. I am constantly being challenged to think of new and innovative ways to run events. I also have a great team that I work with so every day is an exciting one!

Where did you grow up or spend your most defining years?

I moved around a lot growing up. I have lived in North Carolina, Virginia, Washington, DC, Michigan, New York, and Massachusetts. Boston is by far my favorite city!

What led you to work in your field and/or study at your college?

I attended American University because I was drawn to their business school and the political atmosphere in the DC area. Kogod School of Business offers programs that are grounded in experiential learning, which helped to provide me with real-work skills needed to further develop my business expertise. KSB offered hands-on projects, networking events, and a strong and supportive alumni network.
