Network Science Institute: Interactive Network Visualizations for Reasoning, Communication, and Collaboration

Speaker: Dr. Cody Dunne, Assistant Professor in the College of Computer and Information Science, Northeastern University

The first part of Professor Dunne's talk will detail techniques for measuring the readability of node-link visualizations and strategies to help users create more effective and understandable visualizations. The second part of his talk addresses these needs, and he will introduce visualization strategies that assist in making analysis workflows repeatable, free of errors, understandable, and easily shareable.

Robert D. Klein University Lecturer for 2017: How and Why we Simulate Human Behavior

Provost James C. Bean is delighted to announce that Stacy Marsella, Professor in the College of Computer and Information Science and in the Department of Psychology in the College of Science, has been selected as the 53rd Robert D. Klein Lecturer. Professor Marsella’s talk, “How and why we simulate human behavior,” will be delivered on Monday, March 20, 2017, from 3-4pm in the Raytheon Amphitheatre. The entire Northeastern University community is invited to this event.
