Network Science Institute: Networks and the Unintended Consequences of Communication

Speaker: Sandra González-Bailón, Affiliated Faculty at the Warren Center for Network and Data Sciences, Assistant Professor of Communication, Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn)

This talk will offer an account of the progress made in recent decades, and dive into the details of Sandra's own research, which aims to illuminate how networks facilitate large-scale coordination – and dynamics of change that lay beyond the control of any one individual involved.
