Dimitrios Kanoulas is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Advanced Robotics at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT), working with Dr. Nikos Tsagarakis and Professor Darwin Caldwell on the WALK-MAN, CENTAURO, Pholus, and CogIMon projects. He was the perception team leader during the DARPA Robotics Challenge 2015. In August 2014, he completed his PhD at the Geometric and Physical Computing (GPC) Lab in the College of Computer and Information Science at Northeastern University, advised by Professor Marsette Vona (currently at NASA JPL). He started out as a member of the Algorithms and Theory group at Northeastern University, advised by Professor Rajmohan Rajaraman and Professor Ravi Sundaram. During the summer of 2012, he completed an internship at INRIA in France, advised by Professor Christian Laugier and Dr. Alexandros Makris. He received his BS in Computer Engineering and Informatics Department from University of Patras, Greece in 2008, advised by Professor Paul Spirakis and Dr. Haralampos Tsaknakis.
